Seems like Tn must be right on the line,a little to south for the big northern strain deer, and a little to north for the long growing season to grow big largemouth.Hmmmm I guess thats what happens when you are right in the middle... guess so
When I first came to TN, I was shocked that they didn't have Alligator here........ A couple people were looking at me crazy....

I was thinking that Dale Hollow Lake was where the World Record smallmouth bass was taken from...seems like the guy caught it on the TN/KY line...but I may be wrong. yep and cordell hull has lots of bass in the 8lb range probably because the lake flows south out of KY and all the good soil is coming down with it I think it was taken from the KY side.... LOL. Those smallies sure can fight.... It has been disputed, but TN is credited with the record. I'm glad I used largemouth bass as my example..... I knew if I didn't put that (largemouth) in there we would be talking about smallies.... Guess what, we are still talking about smallies.... I wish smallies could get up to 18 lbs, that would be one heck of a fight. Yeah ,there is a difference, you cannot intelligently dispute GNBs largemouth example.
Come on...when did intelligence have anything to do with our disputes...geez

And on the southern edge for smallmouth. Just right.

P.S. The deer are alot bigger here, then them FL deer. It most be the soil because all we have is sand down there...
You are right. My uncle lives in Tampa, and either lived in Florida for a long time. He told me the deer in Florida are about the size of a big dog. They just don't grow that big down there.
Someone else from Florida told me that the closer to the equator, the deer run smaller. The further away from the equator, the deer are bigger. Kinda made sense to me.
I don't doubt that the fish grow bigger in Florida, though. Especially with the warmer temps and more sunshine.

There's been rumors of them in southwest TN. I think around McKellar Lake. I don't know how true that is, though.
(snickers) Gators in TN.

You might of hit that nail on the head.... Isn't funny how nature has away of working its self out.... There are somethings man can't change no matter how much we debate.
