We have some pockets of cover...some that we hunt and some that we dont. Most of our property is wide open hardwoods. Our place is being logged right now....select cut to 12" DBA in 7 different sections spread out all over the property adjacent to the thick cover that already exists and by terrain expected to change into the new travel corridors. They are all anywhere from 5-20 acres a piece. We are looking into making a few of those sanctuaries. As of right now, we know just about everything there is to know about how the deer move on the property - although we know all that is about to change. I hope the plan works as planned

If we get a good summer, you will have some killer browse out of that, may change their patterns some too.

I'm hoping for a wet summer for sure! And the patterns - I'm 99% sure that I will be in my climber ALOT next year...that back of mine will be sore \:D

In rifle I hunt a small two to three acre area on my favorite farm. It is a funnel and can be quite productive in the rut. Bow season is all depending on which clusters of oaks start dropping first. Different doe groups will use different clusters on this farm so I can kill a couple without spooking them.

The other farm I hunt on a hardwood ridge where I can see as far as I can.
