I can't think of any game animal that has more patients, than a mature Whitetail Deer. I was mainly talking about mature deer in thick cover that had caught a molecule of human scent in their nose (it don't take many).
If a mature deer is in a unsecured area and winds you, he or she usually bolts.....immediately.

One hour and fifteen minutes. It was a nice six point about five yards from the stand I was in. He had scented me but could not find me and just backed up into the thick around my stand and did not move a muscle. After an hour and fifteen minutes he slipped out so quiet a mouse would have made more noise.

It was in ohio. 3.5 hrs i had to hold still while a 150 class 10pt bedded down in my shooting lane 50 yds away. i couldnt move a muscle, cramps galore. he finally got up a walked a giant circle around me and left.
