Well, I've decided to lose 30 lbs and improve physical condition for 2010. I'm at 200, but by archery I want to be at 170 and in top shape to hike in to the honey holes, climb the tree, and have enough left in me to hike out with a deer. Last season I planned my hunts closer to the vehicle. I want to have more opportunities.

Anybody plan on getting better physical shape for the primary purpose of getting deeper into the deer's habitat to be more successful?

My furthest stand is a mile walk. Id like to get down to 220, not just for hunting but having more energy in general.

I'm always trying to get in better shape and lose weight, but once you get older than 30 it gets harder and harder! \:D

Staying in shape is the reason I started bird hunting here in the mtns, then following it with turkey season in the mtns. During the summer I run almost every morning with my bird dogs to keep me and them in shape. I will not ever let myself get out of shape, barring any unfortunate accidents or illness.

I stay in good shape year round. I run 4 days a week, and do some form of core workout 2 days, hike at least once on weekends, fly fish the mountains 2-3 days a week in the summer, hunt 2 days a week in the fall and winter. There's a good chance I'm going to run an ultra marathon this September.

Seriously, finally got by bad wheel fixed so I should be a terror in the turkey and deer woods. Mobility will be nice!

I started a workout and eating plan 2 weeks ago. That being said, I am the World's Best at losing 40-50 pounds... and then putting it right back on.

I have to stop that up and down spiral. \:\(

The reason I am doing it. For health, my occupation, my kids, my wife, hunting and the Lord. Today I hit the scales at 266 lbs.

I'm 6'1" and 225lbs which is about 15-20lbs more than my ideal weight, but I can still run a mile in uder 7 minutes and bench press 20lbs over my body weight so I think I'm in decent shape. I just have "a little extra" \:D \:D

I'm going to try to get down to the 200 mark by summer. Just so it won't be so embarassing to take the ole shirt off on the lake. \:D

I'm 6'1" and 260 lbs. When I left Honduras last year I was 220lbs and running between 2.5 to 4 miles a day. Now I'm only running between my recliner and the refrigerator. I don't really have a beer gut or anything but my uniform seems to be tight all over. Ive even had to buy a bigger fitted hat. LOL. Ive ran out of excuses and I'm going to lose at least 40lbs ASAP, if not sooner.

Run just a lil faster from the fridge to the recliner....that may help a little!!!

I'm in pretty good shape. Work out 4 days a week. 6'1 and 190 lbs. I will start my scouting for next year and shed hunting next weekend. It is a long process for me, and lots of walkin once turkey season hits! Also, going to Idaho for an elk hunt at the end of September, so I HAVE to stay in shape!

I'm 6'1 and went from 255 to 195 from end of 08 to sept 09 and can honostly say it helped me greatly in my hunting this year. Walkin in and climbin a tree I was not drenched with sweat and ready for a nap. At 40 I do believe it was the best thing I couldve done for myself.

I did this past season and it helped a lot.... Went down to 6'3"/228 (my old college wght.) and left the 4 wheeler at house a lot this past season. After one hunt walking the mountains, trailing 3 bucks, and dragging two out (2 hunting buddies & me) I lost 5 lbs. I'm staying in the 230's now and hope I can hang in there. Been up to the 270's a few times in the past. Spent my first 20 some yrs trying to gain all the wght I could for ball and now I spent the rest of my like trying to keep it off. Go figure...

I have lost around 40 pounds.. I went from 225 to 185..I was not trying, I just had a deal where the enzymes in my stomach got messed up somehow....Everything I ate would go right thru me in a few minutes..I think the doc has me back on the right track now...

Since I am alot smaller, I am going to take advantage of the situation and try to build back up with protein and exercise..I am still pretty weak, but actually feel better than I did at 225-lbs..

I stay active all year and in the woods much of it however every fall it takes me at least 45 days into the archery season before i am in top physical shape again and able to cart all of my equipment and drag deer all over the place. I wish i could stay that in shape year round as i feel so much better when i am.

I could use to shed a few. Im a touch over 6'2" and 230. Im not a slender frame, but 210 is a very good weight for me. Im shooting to get there and stay through next season and winter. That is the hardest time for me to maintain bc Im hunting a lot and eatting when and what I can.

Ive gotten back to exercising and steadied out my eatting so it should start to come off slowly...lost 2 lbs last week.
