There are deer everyday that die of old age........... I guess buck limits don't affect those deer?
You are correct GNB. I will tell ya that you would crap our pants if you saw some of the videos that those ole boys out there in Kansas bring home of big 'uns they let walk.
My buddy has let several 150 class just cruise on by at 20 yds as he sat there and admired them. When you have 1 and only 1 buck to hang a tag on, it truly forces a man to become very selective.
I realize that we debate the 1 buck limit, soil, and genetics alot on here. But this is the way I see things:
The Midwest produces such magnificent whitetails and I feel that is just a blessing to that region.
I believe that the Midwest will always be blessed with giant whitetails just as Florida will always be blessed with producing giant largemouth bass.
I think that the mountains of Colorado are blessed with an abundance of elk and mule deer just as the streams of Washington and Oregon will always be blessed with running salmon.
Tennessee will have world class smallmouth bass fishing, excellent Eastern wild turkey habitat and unparalleled scenery to boot.
Not to Bible thump or anything, but I see it as God's way of telling an avid outdoorsman- "Get out there. Go and see all that I have created."
I think that Tennessee will always be blessed with an abundance of wildlife and many opportunities for hunters. That is why I will always call the volunteer state my home.
I personally think that the abundance of wildlife is what makes our state so great.
If you are a bass fisherman, we got em.
If you are a coon hunter, we got em.
If you are a turkey hunter, we got em.
If you are a deer hunter, we got em.
Tennessee is an awesome state!
AND I AM GONNA BE SINGING ROCKY TOP ALL NIGHT LONG WHEN WE BEAT THE GATORS THIS YEAR. LOL!
Good post, well everything except the football portion. War Eagle!
