Go to the end of the Buffalo--near where it joins the Duck. The TWRA has shocked up some monsters in that area.

I hear you JC. But at least my land is the first hills adjacent to the river bottomlands. I just try to draw those agriculturally fed big-antlered bucks up out of the bottomlands each fall!

That is one thing we lack. And just having that makes a WORLD of difference. As the crow flies, we are about 3 miles from the Duck river. One day, I'd like to have some good bottomland. I have hunted places like this and open country in general....It is night and day difference in body and rack size of deer. The place I hunted a few years back had ALOT of open country...MUCH more easier hunting than the ridge/hollow hardwoods that we have now!

Ok,my land is On the Buffalo, but "river bottom" land is a very small percentage of my place.Mostly ridge and hollow suff, but I do like my litttle section.

Beautiful pic FH. Grew up deer hunting in Perry county down on Tom's creek on my great grandparents place. My mom & uncle still own about 45 or so acres there. Got a cousin that owns 1,000 and we hunted it until he leased it all out a year or two back and haven't been back since.

Ran a marksmanship booth at the Royal Ambassadors Camporee at Camp Linden Valley this past Fall and loved it. Really pretty river and surroundings. This coming from a guy who sees nothing but soybean and cotton fields most of the time.

Used to rent a house real close to the camp when I was young...I haven't been down there in so long I don't even know if the house is still there. Used to be some good turkey hunting around there, not so much for deer though.

Yes some great ones. I fished it a few summers ago launched around Lobelville and we caught 50-60 that day biggest 10 averaged a touch over 2. My buddies uncle has caught several over 5 but thats over 20 years...just fun float fishing. Great looking area there FH!
