If I'm not mistaken the almanac called for a much colder winter with more snow than usual. So far they've been right. This summer is supposed to be extremely dry and hot. That I don't like but I've seen much better hunting following a hot, dry summer than I saw last season after a cooler, wetter summer.

Did the EHD breakout occur during the last hot, very dry summer?

2007 and 2008 were bad, with 2007 being the worst by far (for us atleast)....and yes, thats was the EHD year.
I hope its not a really hot and dry summer. Average would be ok with me. I just want our new "select cuts" to grow up as much as possible and I just like the cooler summer nights

I would prefer a cooler, wetter summer for natural food growth.
EHD outbreaks--especially the worst ones--usually occur during dry late summers.

I haven't seen any long range forecasts for the summer months.

Lack of moisture usually leads to smaller antler growth too, correct?
