I was just wondering why so many hunters are worried about buck limits... If a hunter goes most of the season without killing a buck and he decides to kill a small buck, who could blame him. If a hunter kills several does during the season and he passes on small bucks, who could blame him. The point I'm trying to make is, that for a lot of hunters it depends on what the situation might be at the time when he decides to pull the trigger. I would be willing to beat that most of the hunters in TN fit under this category.

Take a chill pill 4onaside,.. we are just discussing ,. thats what these forums are here for dude!! Lets leave the political stabs out of the serious deer talk,. and put it in the political forum. NOW,.. if we want to get on the issue of whats best for each hunter and each situation,. thats a different story. I have 4 good places to hunt,. i want a 4 buck limit so i can harvest 1 from each place.:D H..., I could care less if you kill 50 a year, it has no bearing on me and mine. That's the whole point of my "discussion". Conversely, what I do, is of no concern of your's,or anybody else on here, other than the agency,as it in no way effects you, your immediate deer population, where you hunt, etc, etc. ad nauseum. No chill needed, "dude". LOL

But a bunch of these old ladies are concerned about your hunting in such a way about which they don't approve. Otherwise, why would any of them care about what the buck limit is unless it pertained to the herd that they hunted. That concern is legitimate, but otherwise some guy who lives hundreds or miles from you or me, should not care what we do or how we do it, as it does not effect them. That's the point that I have made to the boys who think that I would be better off if the limit was one or two or whatever. Fortunately, what you or I or the others say on this forum will have zero impact on the dept's decisions anyway. And within reasonable bounds, I adhere to that totally. They are professionals and we are not.

Guys, I would agree if it would truly help, but the facts show it wont, so why make a change for no good reason? I'd like to see those facts. About all I've seen is opinions that it want help. The only data I've seen suggest that a 2 buck limit in TN will put more bucks in the herd. BSK can post them for you, as he has done in the past. Nobody is arguing that it wont put more older deer in the herd, but the stats show that us hunters cant kill those older bucks in greater volume even when more exist. i don't buy into that if more exist more will be killed how many more might be worth debating but there would be more killed everybody wants to talk about how hard they are to kill ,yes it's harder but not impossible heck i smoke in the tree and could care less which way the wind is blowing and still get it done but i spend more time in the woods than most If you are still smoking after all of the undeniable facts that it will shorten your life, and reduce the quality of life while you're still alive, then that is incredibly stupid! HOWEVER, if you chose to do so, IT IS NOT ANY OF MY BUSINESS! You are hundreds of miles away, and what you do has absolutely no effect on me. That's the same deal as guys trying to tell everyone what is best for them as far as how many bucks we can legally kill. Some guy in middle or east tennesse or even 50 miles from me in west tennessee is not affected by what I do with the deer on my property. Why do they propose to tell me what is best for me? Someone spoke of compromise. Compromise what? You don't compromise when things are as you want them. Those people sound like democrats who have tried to cram deals down our throats, have failed, and now want to "compromise". LOL thank you i need to go smoke now ENJOY!
