Passed on 5 opening day of muzzleloader. Couple young ones (spike, four, six), one little 8 (around 100") and a 9 point that was my fault for not shooting.

Let quite a few walk and this was the first in several years I didn't shoot a buck, just saw nothing that struck my fancy.

I suppose alot of hunters that don't see what they're after cry for lowering the limits expecting that it will be the magic missing ingredient. I've stated my opinion on here in the past and I will again. The change from 11 bucks/season down to where we are now made a big difference in buck sightings and yet there are still alot of hunters not seeing or taking bucks. Another 1 buck reduction in our limits WILL NOT make the difference they are looking for.
As for myself, I could easily kill 30 bucks/season but choose not to squeeze the trigger until I see the buck/s I want to kill. Buckless in the last 5 seasons...

The problem is the 11 to 3 did not make a really big difference. We were already on the track to better age structure. It speeded things up a little bit but we were already on the way. In other words, it wasn't the cause for what we have today.

You must have not been hunting in Tennessee back then, if you think it did not make big difference. And don't forget, it was a 11 to 2 then back to 3.

In the past ten years, I have only killed more than one buck in a season and only did that ONCE. I have gone "buckless" a few seasons as well....
Rarely do I shoot a buck that I won't have mounted, so I just can't afford the taxidermist bill....
IMO...three bucks is about the right limit.....but I would not complain if it went down the two. I would not want it to be just ONE simply because I hunt bow and it would be hard to kill a 120 plus with a bow and then have to sit out the rest of the season...
A three buck limit takes some pressure off hunters in that they can mess up and kill a buck that has quite a bit of ground shrinkage and still have a tag or two left.....
I would hate to think that some bucks are laying on the side of the road with their antlers cut off because it was someone's last tag.....
