There is only one Heisman Trophy. There is only one Super Bowl Trophy. There is only one SEC Championship Trophy. There is only one Stanley Cup. There is only one Americas Cup. This list can go on forever. What makes each of these achievements special? Would these “Trophies” mean as much if every team or player in these sports received one no matter how good they played of performed? What would make a 130+ buck special if everyone killed one?

To some hunters a button is special and a trophy. I think sometimes we get so caught up on the numbers and the things we see on television (hunting shows), it takes away from the experiences and the lessons we take, from each and every hunt... JMO

Anything can be abused and the word trophy seems to get plenty of bashing right here on Tndeer. In the true sense of the word I think we all know exactly what trophy means. A spike, a 4 pointer, or any deer for that matter may be one's first or second or 42nd kill and it may mean alot to that hunter or his friends or family but I still wouldn't classify a small, young buck as a trophy. As long as someone "trophy" hunts ethically, legally, and doesn't lose sight of the overall hunting picture I see nothing wrong with trophy hunting and make no apologies for being one.

I agree, we read all the time how every deer is a trophy etc etc. Its like listening to politicians. The truth is a trophy is really big buck, not the 1.5 year old 4 pt.

I've always thought a trophy was in the eye of the beholder.
