hello folks,, I was here last season looking for info on coming down and while visitng a friend in Murfreesboro I wanted to set aside a few days to do some bow hunting as a non-resident. alot of you guys recommended Persey Priest as the best place to go especially if I have Mass plates on the car I don't want to be stepping on anyones toes.
I didn't end up coming down because the time went bad for my friend so I want to seriously plan it for this next season,,, just wanted to see if there was any more info I could use on the area, any decent locations within the Park or where to avoid any help will be perfect and I can return the favor on my area if any fishing or hunting comes up here for you guys (Stripers, Blues, Blue-fin or false albacore on the fly rod?)
not trying to get the best spot just avoid anything that people tell me to.
I shoot all bows and have 3 safety course,, never an accident, and a meat hunter settling for does all day long and known as "Doe Boy" by my friends Ha Ha..
finally if you know of any local guides or semi-guides for a decent price IDC if its does only and I have to bring my own stands, and never be seen in the area again after I leave thats fine.

If you end up having to stay somewhere. I would suggest Cedars of Lebanon State park. its within short driving distance to most of the public land in the area.

If you stay at Cedars of Lebanon you could hunt he Cedar forrest too. Yes if you stay at Cedars of Lebanon State Park you could hunt he Cedar forrest too. Cedars of Lebanon State Park is a state park in Wilson County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. It consists of 900 acres (364 ha) situated amidst the 9,420-acre (3,810 ha) Cedars of Lebanon State Forest. The park and forest are approximately 10 miles (16 km) south of Lebanon, Tennessee.
Cedars of Lebanon State Forest is known for its cedar glades, a unique type of ecosystem that has adapted to the thin (or nonexistent) soil layers that often occur in the eastern Central Basin. These glades are typically flanked by thick stands of red cedar, a type of juniper tree that can survive in soil layers too thin to support most large wooded plants. The presence of the red cedar in the basin reminded the region's early Euro-American settlers of the Lebanese cedar forests of Biblical fame. Cedars of Lebanon State Park has 117 campsites, 11 picnic shelters, a swimming pool, 8 miles (13 km) of hiking trails, a group lodge, and a meeting hall. A small museum, the Merritt Nature Center, displays some of the forest's natural features. The park also maintains a disc golf course. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedars_of_Lebanon_State_Park and here http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/Cedars/ and http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/ and History of Cedars of Lebanon State Park http://www.state.tn.us/environment/parks/Cedars/pdf/history.pdf
