Use to hunt by myself alot, still do some. Now I try and take a friend along, for a few reasons. Mainly safety and so someone will know where I'm at or in the general vicinity of being able to call for help.
Very good point...

I prefer to hunt with a buddy for safety reasons, but have been hunting solo more often recently.

I hunt most of the time by myself. Except for when I take my daughters. I make sure my wife or dad knows where I'll be so if something were to happen they could find me. I'd like to hear from the ones that hunt solo why do you hunt solo. I guess that could be a new topic.

Like I said there are a few times during the season I like to hunt solo. My wife knows that the opening week of Muzzle Loader I take that week off and she doesn't ML hunt so it gives me my time to reflect and enjoy what God has given me reflect on. I call it my soul and body cleansing week. She always says I'm a different person after that week, which she likes.

100% solo here..Kinda wish I had someone hunting with me sometimes, mostly when I kill a deer,so they can help drag it out..LOL But when your by yourself you don't have to worry about the other hunter, like if they are where they are supposed to be,or if they are being quiet or if they are sitting still or when they wanna leave...

I'd like to hear from the ones that hunt solo why do you hunt solo.

I call it my soul and body cleansing week. She always says I'm a different person after that week, which she likes.
If you read my post FACTORS, you might understand....
another factor is that when I was coming up and running around I had a friend named Clint. I had a car and he didn't. Everytime I went anywhere, he wated to go. that was fine but he never wanted to leave when i did and we always argued about it and usually I was stuck sitting in the car waiting on him ....
I also like the freedom to come and go as I please......if I go hunting and want to leave after an hour, I don't have to worry about anyone else. I don't have to get my buddy to leave if he wants to stay or I don't have to stay when I would rather go...
many days I go and stay all day and I don't know any of my friends that will do that.....
