This lease is located in Rhea Co. There is appx. 3200 acres and we currently have 38 adult members but some of them have moved away from the area and will not be able to get on the lease for 2010. We have a camping area that is usually occupied from the first of Nov. thru the middle of Jan.
Our guidelines are:
• All members must practice safe firearms handling.
• All members must obey all hunting laws (violating these laws could result in expulsion from the club with no refund of dues.).
• No trash is to be left in the field.
• All members should check in at camp throughout hunting season (Phone calls are OK).
• All kills must be reported to the club.
• Members are encouraged to keep truck traffic to a minimum in the hunting areas.
• Members are encouraged to only run generators when the cook tent generator is running or the camp is vacant.
• No alcohol before sunset.
Some of these guidlines are for members that camp at our campsite.
Currently we are following state rules on harvesting. We ask each member to pass on spikes but other than that a legal deer is a shooter. If you shoot a spike you might get kidded but that is all.
Currently the cost is $500 per year for an adult member. Their spouse can hunt for $250. Childern between 10 and 17(Still in High School) $50 and children under 10 hunt free. I do not think the rates will change for the 2010 season.
You can use the land year round. There are miles of 4 wheeler trails and the campsite is always available.
Go to this web site http://www.cumberlandhunting.com/ and look up RLU's 1117.01, 1117.02 and 1114. These are the properties that we currently lease. There are several water sources on or ajacent to this property. There are areas of hardwood, clearcuts, pine thickets, and some open areas. We have been averaging over 50 deer a year for the past 5 years.
The cut off for adult members is 50 at this time. I don't see it going any higher than that unless we aquire more property.
You can send me a PM or call me at 423 506-2432 for more info

Besides the 12 openings we started with we have had some people move away because of work so I don't know exactly how many we will have but I think it will be at least 15 or so.

What's the point of even having the spike reg? Would be better just to say whack and stack!
