scoring at Cabelas. Unfortunately, it has been snowing all day and is supposed to snow all night and all day tomorrow. I can't pick Nyle up because of work conflict so we are meeting there. I hope the snow lets up some so the 80 year old guy won't have problems. 12:30 tomorrow at Dundee Cabelas
I'll post the results when I get back late tomorrow.

The beers were good!! Well, I had mixed emotions about this..sorta like seeing your mother-in-law go over the cliff in your brand new truck. The deer scored 177 4/8..no where near the world record of 204. Nyle spent some time trying to understand from the scorer why that wasn't 1/2 instead of 4/8 even though the guy explained to him that they score by the 1/8ths.
Apparently, 156 is the score needed to make the Boone and Crockett official record book so from this day on my 80 year old friend will be in the B/C record book with his blacktail deer from British Columbia that he shot in 1966.
Nyle can't hear out of one ear and the other is selective...The scorer said "so where did you shoot it again?" and Nyle said "right in the chest like I told you last time..twice, not a 25 cent piece apart"...
Later, he mentioned his wife, Mary, who passed away on New Year's Eve and looked at me with those livid blue eyes and said, "heck, I almost feel like crying"...I told him to let'r rip and I'll join you...It was a good thing fellas...
So, thanks for your patience and here's a few pics...took almost two hours to score it..and the guy did not use a calculator (which I asked about) nor any digital scoring devices..
Lots of people stopped by to take pics and I'm sure he felt like a king...
This is the scorer, Bill Nash from Lambertville, MI as he began scoring at Cabelas in Dundee, MI

Nyle, helping out...

Nyle holding it for the Boone and Crockett pics..one from the front and one from each side
