Although I do not have any "official" authority to say, "Thank you" on behalf of the Agency, I'm going to anyway...
Even though there are, at times, heated discussions about decisions and regulations made by TWRA, and some hunters may not agree with us, and sometimes, in not-so-polite terms... Thank you.
Without the hunters in Tennessee, and in particular, the deer hunters (especially since this is this is addressed to those on tndeer), TWRA could not manage the deer populations in our state. Without deer hunters, there would not be a method to remove the does necessary to ensure healthy herds. Without the passion to protect and enhance our hunting heritage, wildlife, all wildlife, would be at risk. Without the funding provided by licenses, permits, and excise taxes on sporting equipment, paid by hunters, TWRA would not have the ability to exist, nor do those things we are charged to do. Although we may disagree at times, we do appreciate the hunters in our state and all that they do for us. Thank you.

Great post AlanP. Very few in Government say those words, unless it is almost Election time.

I have talked to a few hunters who have moved to Tennessee from other states and they think Tennessee has a super wildlife management agency. I told them that I agree.
Thanks! Good job, keep it up!

Seriously, thanks to all of you. A few of us know how hard your job really is and how little it pays. Thank God TWRA didn't hire me 30 years ago when Bass asked me to apply.

Is it just me or do things change around here when a TWRA agent/officer comes on here........
Lots of "smooching" going on.......
Sort of like the kid getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar....!!
Ever seen a kid get caught doing something wrong and the first thing he or she says to their dad is..."I love you Daddy!"
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Thanks for what you do, TWRA..........
the best thing we can do is pay the appropriate fees, abide by the game laws and report poachers. yes, I said it.......use that poacher hotline!!
One last thing. All that have kids should make an extra effort to raise your kids to respect not only the TWRA and the game laws but also to respect the game they hunt.
Thanks again to the TWRA.

Although many claim the TWRA is one of the most "backward" state agencies (based solely on buck limit), when considering how much the agency actually knows about their state's deer herd and their efforts to learn that, the TWRA is the most progressive and advanced state agency I know of.
Hunters may not like all the rules/seasons/limits, but show me a state agency that does as much to learn what their herd actually contains and what hunters are actually harvesting.

And thanks Alan for all TWRA does for TN's hunters and Tn's deer. And a BIG thanks for providing input in these forums! Many discussions would be far too one-sided without scientifically based answers from TWRA (and BSK, too)

Thanks! I appreciate what all TWRA has done for us. I recently noticed that in Franklin County we have an additional 2000 acres added onto the existing 15000 acre Bear Hollow WMA which is amazing! I'm glad that TWRA is using the money for something extremely valuable like land conservation and not blowing it on BS like most other government operations.

Although sometimes I'm sure we all have our peeves with TWRA,theres no doubt that without them we would not have anything.I remember when we didnt have many deer here in west Tn.,and I remember very well when we didnt have any turkeys .Many younger readers don't remember those days, but the "Thank You" is for you and all of the TWRA staff. Thanks Tick
