Spotlighting did not seem to bother the deer when we were doing it heavily. The rifle shots, and dead comrades defintely had an impact on them however. Until we began killing the deer we were shining they seemed to care less, and went about business as usual. After a couple of nights getting wasted they began to get super edgy, and went to more of a day time routine as the night was not safe anymore.

A farmer shouldn't need a permit to make a living. What about coon hunting and frog gigging? You can shine a light then.

Trail cams have light which locates a deer inorder to photograph it and seeing some of their reactions to this light I'd say that it IS harassment.
I guess trail cams are for the NOT SO Stupid and Lazy though, LOL.
Really the light doesn't locate anything.Whatever or whoever steps in front of it and snaps a pic.
But who sets in in that position? You have to make a judgement decision as to where the deer will be compared to the camera....don't you?

I don't really see on the other thread where the people that thought foodplots and baiting were the same were pro-baiting.
Tailcams don't have guns and nobody is standing there holding the trailcam, spotlighters possibly can have guns making it harder on CO's to enforce no night shooting...My opinion is that there should be no spotlighting.
The illegal use of a light to locate or harass deer doesn't require you to have a gun or weapon. IT,in itself, is illegal.
