Trying to set up a hunt for my son and I for this fall and have never been on one before so was hoping to get a few suggestions on what questions I should ask.

Thanks, Bow Hunter

A big one would be about the liscense. Some states are over the counter, some are draws. Also, about the length of the hunt.A short hunt can be good, but if the weather is warm, windy, raining, whatever. Also, some places have minimums on bucks, hard on kids.

the place I went a few years ago is called sevenj outfitters. They will be at the nwtf convention and they run a great operation. Jeff and Debbie are good people and the food and cabin is worth the trip.

Ask them what they supply in detail...including pillows and blankets. Then you will know what to expect. If it's a guided hunt get some credentials from them for the guides. Ask for references for the service. Find out if you will be alone in camp or if they are grouping you with other hunters. How much to process the deer, mounting, rifle or shotgun....do you walk or ride to the blinds, tree stands allowed?...the list can go on but references could be big...

Bowriter was a guide and outfitter for Lewis and Clark so pm him and I'm sure he can tell you more than me...

I'm sure bowriter could fill me in for sure, but Lewis and Clark might be a little to far of in the future. \:D
