If you've ever hunted a feeder, then you already know that a feeder doesn't bring all deer in on a string at the sound of the throw. This is particularly true of bigger mature bucks. They just don't get shot over a feeder very often. Yes, they will bring a few does in and some younger bucks during shooting light, but it's not a guarantee and it doesn't throw the "hunting" part of hunting out the window.
My point is that it really doesn't matter IMO, and the first mistake is to assume that we're smarter than Mother Nature and God. I don't have a dog in this fight, but it really doesn't matter either way.

if its so bad then how come alot of other states do it Please list "all" the other states. You might be surprised at how few allow it. From what I could find on the net as of 2008: No Bait Allowed:Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, WyomingBaiting Allowed In Entire State:Arizona, Hawaii, Kansas, Nevada, New Hampshire, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, WashingtonBaiting Only In Selected Areas:Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, WisconsinSo 22 states allows baiting. Actually ended up being more than I thought. I feel like if you dont agree with baiting or hunting over it, then dont do it. "IF" it was ever legalized, then it would be "your" choice to do so or not. Until baiting is legal I am against hunting over it. Once it is legal, then like any other form of legal hunting, I say have at it!
Drop Miss from your list, baiting is not legal.

KY allows it...all that decomposing corn is what has made their soil so good.

I like how many folks say "no" to baiting but hunt over food plots!!! What is the differnce between that and throwing out corn??? None. I think they either make baiting legal or make food plots illegal too.

KY allows, I see no adverse affect there. I used to be dead set against it, but I do not understand if we can bait for 9 months out of the year and it doesn't cause disease issues....why would it cause disease issues if you bait 12 months out of the year. It is no different than decoys, urine scents, food plots, grunt calls, can calls, mock scrapes and any other number of attractants we use to draw deer to our hunting spots, imo.

JMO I guess in its simplest form they are the same,a deer attractor, but a food plot is far more beneficial to deer than corn is .also,if a food plot were made illegal, would it also be illegal to hunt near a farmers soy bean field?

Why should it be legal?
What are the benefits of legalizing bait?

Why should it be legal?
What are the benefits of legalizing bait? The only answer I can come up with is to make deer killing easier? What else could it be?
