I have tested out some cheaper Bushnell cams and they didn't seem to be that consistent. Have you guys tried or had any luck with the Bushnell Trophy cameras. These are the smaller ones with an approx 12 month battery life. I thinking about getting a few in and giving them a test run..

I have 3 of them and love them....to the best of my knowledge, made in same place as the scoutguard 550 and the covert cams, but made for bushnell and they offer a two year warranty....can look online and find them for about $160. My only complaint is if the deer is moving fast at night it can be blurry.

i have one of them. I did some research before I bought it and it's the same camera as the scoutguard. Mine has the field viewer in it which is a waste of money, you can't tell anything about the pictures. I just bought a second card and swapped them out and do my looking on the computer. As for the battery life I get about a month or two and it's usally on the last bar so I change them. Great pictures and easy to set up.Don't spend the extra money on the viewer.

gator-n-buck,

We were thinking the same on this camera? I like the fact it is compact and not to pricey... If you decide to get a few let me know what you really think. Thanks

The Bushnell Trophy Cam, HCO ScoutGuard, and DCL Covert are all the same internal camera guts with different external box (the yare all made in the same Chinese factory).

All three are good cams if you get a good one. All three have fairly severe quality control issues, in that failure rates are high. That said, if you get a good one you will like it.

The biggest difference I've seen is battery life. The original ScoutGuards have much longer battery life than the Trophy Cam and Covert. 8 Lithium AA batteries will last at least 6 months in a ScoutGuard.

Another difference is warranty. Bushnell is offering a two year warranty on the Trophy Cam.

The Trophy Cam and Covert also have a couple more LEDs than the ScoutGuard hence have slightly better night-time illumination.
