My buddy went over there three times in the 80s, when he was making a giant pile of money as a commodities broker during the Reagan years. One of his hunts cost about $5,000 for the hunt, kill fees, and airfare. The taxidermy bill was $12,000. Taxidermy is a black hole for money. If at all possible I will have all heads shipped home. 2 of my best friends are Taxidermist. Thats sad considering I dont even mount any of my deer anymore! lol

A plains game hunt is relatively cheap, maybe $4000. Now add in airfare and export and taxidermy. You just spent $15,000.
Not true from what I have researched.
okay.

I asked a client bout the cost if his hunt and his african hunt was just barely under $14,000 from start to finish. Killed kudu, gemsbok, red hartebeast, blue wildebeest, eland, springbuck, and impala. He also added a giraffe once he was over there. his costs include hunt, airfare, 15% namibia tax, packaging/treating hides/documentation for export, taxidermy, and gratuities.....Lots to consider
His hunt was last aug.
as for me, I would love to have a zibra mounted in my foyer, beautiful animals, and since all the meat goes to the local tribes i see nothing wrong with killin one.

I'll never hunt Africa..no desire to shoot anything there...
There are about 30 things I would like to shoot there...the sumbitches that were shooting at me.

Can't figure out why anyone would have the desire to shoot a zebra or WALK UP TO an elephant and shoot it between the eyes. Can't even watch so called elephant hunting on TV

No desire to shoot any animal if it doesn't grow horns on it's head. And no desire to shoot many animals that do have horns.
I could care less about zebra, lion, buffalo, hippo, croc, warthog, hartebeest, wildebeest, leopard, etc. Elsewhere, no desire for bears, mtn lion, bobcats, even moose.
But I do want a gemsbock (I apply every year for them in New Mexico), kudu, eland.
I really, really want to go on a mountain sheep hunt- but I know I'll never get drawn or be able to afford a tag outside the draw.
