Setterman -

That was the best thing I have ever heard you say. You nailed it. Thank you!

IMO - Very dissappointing report from a supposed "professional" organization. (And that's not "sour grapes". It's from acknowledging very poor scientific "reporting".)

One of the reasons why I will no longer be a member of it. That and its too bad it seems like them being a true non-profit gets in the way of the business they are running under it.

If you don't know how misleading the numbers are then how can you learn anything? Learning from false info can do far more damage than doing nothing.

Looks like they just reported the data that each state has.

Didn't it say we only killed 32% does, I thought we killed around 40% in 2008.

We killed 43% does in 2008 and 45% does in 2007.

My bad when I said the data was correct. I was only looking at the yearling buck harvest percentage they reported.

I misread it. Went back and reread it they said 32% antlerless. I thought they said 32% does.

My "on the other hand" statement assumed that the numbers are proven not to be misleading. I'm just keeping an open mind.

Although I have no idea where they got their WMA information.

They refer to WMU's, which I interpret as being subdivisions of the state. I don't believe they are talking about WMAs in the sense that we use the term here in Tennessee.

WMU's = Unit L, Unit A, and Unit B

What false info.

Mississippi as an example. There is no required check in process, their data must only come from dmp properties, plus the fact that regs were just changed this year to protect yearling bucks.

I don't follow how a change in regulations this year would affect 2008 data.

As I said in an earlier post, it only affects the manner in which the data is used. As in using the data to extrapolate the overall health and balance of the herd.
