I don't think there should be any more hunts there. The lack of hunting pressure is one of the things that makes the Island special. It may not be 15 years or it may be longer. But I would like to see some other wma's that had similar restrictions and low number of hunters.

I have zero points and was thinking about putting in for PI next year, but may rethink it now. Here's my logic. There are other WMA's I can put in for and get drawn every year. Deer hunting is all about odds. What are the odds of hunting the same WMA for 15 years and taking a trophy buck? I would say pretty good, depending on the WMA.

Thats the way I look at it too.i feel like I have better odds by hunting the same place and learning the area.It might take several years but it will pay off.i would feel better about the buck i killed that way anyway.

You are EXACTLY right. But for those looking for their best opportunity at a mature buck on a single weekend hunt, PI wins hands-down.

I understand the theory however there is no other WMA i would give a weekend at my KY lease or Fort Campbell for. My odds on a big deer are better at those places than any other WMA....except PI.
