Was given a new carry lite buck decoy by my uncle today and was wondering if anyone has had any luck using one in TN. It will convert to a doe, of course, as well. TIA

I used one during bow season. No luck but I didn't have any luck with any method this year. I'll try it again next year.

Never used one, but my buck deer bow target has been attacted twice, with devastating results. Didn't see it in person, but there were parts all over my yard with gouges in the flanks of the target.

Used one about 4 years ago to kill a 2.5 year buck, hunting the early ML season in west Tn. Worked great then, it first spooked the doe that was coming from other direction (Buck decoy) the buck left casing the doe then come back high stepping and with ears laid back.
Most will tell you not to use in gun season, I wouldn't on public land, but we was in the middle of private land.

I have had mixed results. It spooked some deer, and others burred up and challenged it, nothing of any size has yet to come at him. I gave it up, just because of the pain of lugging it around, and I do not hunt in places very often anymore where it would be effective.

I have never used one of the ones like you are refering to. I have and still often do use a flambue fawn decoy, I can't say that I use it often tho. But in fact, I have used used it year round. It rolls up and will fit into a pocket or game vest.. I probably use it a little differantly than what is typicly thought of when decoying..I use it primarily as confidence decoy more so than to specificly try and pull in deer, altho it has done that before in the past, coyotes too. It seems to ease the tension level of any deer in general. It also works well on turkeys and have even used it when callin coyotes...
