Took my son on the Juvenile hunt this weekend, and he had a great hunt, he bagged 2 does Saturday afternoon sitting in our hunting house in the dry, but when I was cleaning the biggest doe, I found out she was pregnant. It is one of the neatest things I have ever seen, it is about 1.5 inches long and everything is developed, except its ears, you can see the hooves and ribs and all of it. I am giving it to one of our science teachers for them to study and look at.

Guys, the pictures would be educational. Maybe post them with a strong warning in subject line and then in the first of the post as well.

Or, PM me the pics. I would love to see. Obviously, I would not post them anywhere, just for my education!

Great thread!

If you want to see a pic of one, use this link. I posted it a couple of weeks ago but it was frowned upon by some on this site. I don't understand...but anyway, only go look if you WANT to see the pics.

You can measure the fetus and back date to get the time when that particular doe was bred.
http://www.qdma.com/articles/details.asp?id=154

This would be good to collect over several years and you can determine when most of the breeding is occuring in your area.

I rarely shoot does late in the season for that very reason.....

just an old softy, I guess.

Congrats to the juvy, though.
