4inch will hold half a bag if you buy 8 footer and half it for 2!

I take (2) 4' pieces of 4" Pvc and put on a tree trunk, and that hold 50lbs almost exactly just make sure you dig a small hole at the bottom where the 90 degree elbows will be to back the corn up and only let it come out as they eat. Thats my cheap and easy way to do it.

If you hang them away from the trunk of the tree. Coons and squrrels will not get in it as bad, as puting it on the ground.

Very cool! Can feeders bring deer into a place that they don't usually travel..or travel close by? It would be neat to put some in the back yard for pictures and such, but not sure if deer travel that far up. behind my 2 acres opens up to 1000+ acres. Just wondering if they would come up to places where they usually may not for the corn?

I'm not so sure that the deer would travle too far for the corn unless they had little or no food closer by.....

it would help get pics of some of the deer that were there, though.

I built mine out of 6inch pipe 6 foot tall holds 50 pounds just put a cap on it strap it to the base of a tree your done . Deer eat it it gravity feeds down, I usually cut a v in a foot long 2x4 put it between the feeder and the tree before strapping for easy top removal.

4 inch pipe with a cap and an angle cut at the bottom is all you need... Strap it to the tree and fill it. 5 Ft will hold about 40 lbs. Big bucks like them also... Never did see that ole boy this year..

This design looks like it would collect alot of rain water. We put a cleanout on top for filling, and capped the bottom. Then drilled 2-3 1" holes in the side of the pipe. Works great.

just drill about 20 really small holes in the bottom of the cap... rain would run straight thru it... i dont think the animals will mind if the corn gets a little wet as long as its not standing water...
