I have deer hunted for twenty years in Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I hunted about a hundred times this season since opening of bow. That is more time in the woods than any other year of my life. I scouted dozens of times and walked miles starting in August in the Cheatham WMA, on private farm in Dickson County, and on a private farm in Davidson County. I found heavy sign in all locations. I built some ground blinds with brush. I hunted high from my climbing stand. I hunted from a pop up blind. I still/stalk hunted for hours. I hunted pre-dawn to dark many days. I am as scent free as a human can be after washing my clothes, hair, and body in scent free soap immediately before the hunt and then spray clothes again with scent killer. I don't smoke. I don't eat or pee anywhere near my stands. I sit absolutely motionless for hours at a time. Yet... I only saw five does and no bucks all year. The five does I saw were all spooked while still hunting so I only saw white tails waving goodbye. The worst thing is my thirteen year old son went with me on a few hunts, including Saturday for Juni Hunt and we never saw a deer. The same exact story last year also. Three years ago I had multiple shot opportunities and numerous deer within bow range while hunting on the ground. I took doe and a nice eight point back then. These last two years have really broken me down. I feel their intincts have driven them nocturnal in Davidson, Dickson, and Cheatham counties while they recover from EHD loss. What have you gentlemen experienced in Davidson, Dickson, and Cheatham counties this season?

Bummer, I really wonder how bad EHD effected the heard. In some places it really knocked them back, might be in the areas you hunt. Good luck next year.

My lease is in Houston and we have seen less Deer this year than last...and we have over 2300acres of property. The EHD had a huge effect on the amount of deer..The local Game Warden was telling one of our members that he counted over 180 deer on the banks of our lease alone dead frome EHD. I think it's time for the 3 doe a day to be reduced.

Sounds like you need to change the way you do things.
