If you had a choice would you shoot a nice 3.5 year old 7 point (small horns) or a 2.5 year old 10 point (wall hanger)....
P.S. For all the fence walkers that want to talk about how close they are... They are the same distance... 20 yards, high power rifle..

gator, which ever one you want is the one to shoot. I have killed so very nice deer. but if i wanted to shoot a 4 point at the crack of day, i'd blast him and show no shame.I'ts deer season, not 8,10, or 120" or 150" season.
That's why i'm careful who i get in on a lease with, i may let 100 8 pointers walk and just one day decide i want to kill a 6 pointer and blast him.
As long as i still get excited and love the hunt and can thank the Lord for what i've killed i'm just fine. My brother who is 45ish will get as excited as a 10 year old boy for killing a 4pt. and man i admire him for that. Kill what you want brotherni'll be happy for you. DA loves to kill deer and some bash him for killing so many but the man kills what the LAW says he can so more power to him!

If both deer were standing there together Id shoot the 10 point every time.

Neither, 5 years ago I would have shot the 7 point, but as I have continued to mature not just any mature bucks will do for me, as a general rule. I am looking for peak potential wherever I am hunting, and no where that I hunt would either of those deer qualify, and that includes East TN.

first of all, I would not take time to age the deer and even if I did I wouldn't be so sure that one was 2.5 and one was 3.5 to choose...I'd shoot the wall hanger.
