In 11 years of Turkey hunting I have never been sitting side by side someone and "pulled a double." I usually set up the other hunter to shoot, or I set up to shoot. I have called one in for a buddy, went and got breakfast, and come back and killed one myself in the same morning, but thats as close as I've gotten. How many of you have pulled a "true double"? What was your set up like?

I have been fortunate enough to be a part of four true doubles. The first one I let my buddy shoot first and immediately followed. The second one was a classic 1, 2, BOOM. The third one, at LBL, the birds came in to my immediate left and got nervous so I shot and he spun around the tree and killed the other long beard as it tried to fly away. Another hunt I filmed my buddy kill one and went to another place and I scored. Also have a great hunt on film where two good friends doubled on two with 1, 2 BOOM.

That would be impossible for me because I turkey hunt alone. That could change this season! ;\)

With me, solitary sport, solo kills. If I want company, I'll go to dinner with folks.

When I got started turkey hunting at 17 I had a brother that was 7 years old that followed me everywhere. I like turkey hunting alone at times, but there's nothing better than sharing an exciting hunt with someone, esspecially a kid.

Pulled it off many many times. Always sit next on the same tree, have one person designated as firing squad leader to call the shot, and let the birds fully commit to 20 yards or so.

It is harder then you would think, it seems that the second shooter gets rattled by the incredible impact of the first shot fired, and many times misses. If I am not calling the shot, I wait for just a split second after the first shot to make sure I have my wits about me before I shoot.

Watched these two birds for almost 2 hours as they went from one end of the field to the other.
They were actually in the field while we set up our decoy.

We had to let 9 jakes walk by and then watched as the two longbeards busted through the wad of them and strutted / gobbled up to the decoy.

I shot too early and then we had a misfire on the other gun and we still managed to pull it off.
21 and 20 pounds, 10 1/2" and 10 1/4" beards, 1 1/4" spurs.

Left there and stretch caught a 50 pound catfish two days later.
Good week.

This was another good weekend spent in the woods too.
Not as dramatic, they came in and we killed 'em.
Took another one the next day too.
