I just got a new lease that has a lot of big deer on it. I would like to know when yall think is the best time to start shed hunting? Thanks!

right before the woods start turning green. That way you can still see in the open woods and all the bucks have had a chance to drop, and you just have to cover the ground one time... If there are other folks lookin in the same areas then you may want to start earlier and cover the areas over and over...thickets, fence crossings, main trails, etc,,,

What WInchester said, Although I have never had any luck finding any, I always stumble upon singles while turkey hunting!

i seen 5 standing together in the first week of march last spring and they all still had horns and as much as i am in the woods i've never found one in TN but did find some in KY to many thick places for one to loose them on my place in TN

Shed traps are starting to become popular and some are o.k. but be careful, as some will get entangled with the Antlers and if the buck is not ready to shed can cause a big problem. The bait alone works about as well, as you are causing them to spend more time either at the feeder, or in close proximity to it, which in turn makes a higher % place to find the sheds. I personally prefer to roam the woods looking for them, as you can learn a great deal this time of year, and my old chubby arse needs the exercise these days! lol
