Greetings,
I am wondering if anyone hunts WMA's in Wilson or Trousdale counties? I am new to the area and trying to find a few areas to scout and hunt for the 2010 deer season.
I did some scouting during the 2009 season in the Lock 5 WMA area but noticed that is was set up for more duck hunting than deer hunting considering it was flooded by mid-October.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
JP

Some of lock 5 is closed, read the guide carefully. There is a lot of land, but most is accsessed by boat.Good hunting, but crowded during gun.LOTS of land to hunt from 231 way past Harstsville,or use to be.Also, check out PPwma, not to far,but read the regs, different rules there.

I read where the part of lock 5 in Wilson County is closed but just over the bridge into Trousdale County is open but only until 11/15.
I also read where there is a large section that is land locked and only accessible by boat. I believe the guys I spoke with said take the Cumberland river system to Rocky creek and there it is. Not really sure how to get there though.
There is an area on the left side of 231 if you are leaving Wilson and entering Trousdale but I don't know if that is more for duck hunting or not.
Thanks for the info. I will try to find what PPwma is.

Good luck Lots of hunters and rules Try Gallatin Steam Plant Bow only but when the rut comes around the big bucks leave the safety zones in search of the does
