B&C- that is a great deer you took. You know as well as I do that you can tell people about Kansas but it really and truly is somethin' ya gotta see for yourself. That's a great buck you took!

KRY- I hunt in Northeast Kansas- Johnson county.

BZZRD- That sucks that he was just found dead and nobody was able to harvest him. We have found sooo many dead bucks out there that just die of old age. A buck like that one would make my year!

Thanks man ! Kansas is definately a place that everyone should hunt at least once. I know some areas have higher populations than others but I would be happy in any area. I saw some monster rubs and scrapes while I was out there and truly believe that a person could kill the buck of their lifetime at any minute out there.

In case a man needed anymore Kansas motivation or proof... 150 6/8 gross (green), shot December 5th, pic taken the next morning. But in all honesty, the big ones are out there, but there's not a Booner behind every tree like the Outdoor Channel wants you believe. Regardless, it's a great place to hunt.

That is right KRY226. Some people go out there thinking that there will be a B and C buck behind every tree. The quality of animals is definetly a notch above the rest but ya still have to have good woodsmanship and of course luck on your side.

This is the time of year when I would recommend anyone to get your buddies together and apply for tags next year. Even if you hunt public land (which still is fantastic for producing monster bucks), you can work on acquiring permission to private land during your down time.
