If you dont take them down I would at least loosen up the straps the tree grows more than you think. Will eventually be stuck there if you don't

Yeah,Forgot to say that..Definatly remove your straps,and just leave it chained to the tree loosely..I also take spray paint and spray over all the bolts and rust spots.

I have 3 of the big buddy stands that stay up all year. The bottom ladder section on one of them has bulged out and split, looks like water got in there and froze. I would make sure that there aren't any places where water can get in. I used duct tape on the other two on top sections that were open.

we have a 20 ft. ladder that has been out about 3 years.

I LEAVE ALL MINE, AND THEY ALL HAVE CHAIN AND PADLOCKS ON THEM. IF I REMOVED ALL MY STANDS AT THE END OF SEASN IT WOULD TAKE ME 2 DAYS SO I AINT DOING THEM. BUT I WILL BE MOVING 2-4 OF THEM IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS

Leave mine out all year. No room at the house to store them. Just check (replace) the ratchet straps in September.

Watch out for WASP nesting in the open holes on the platform or any openings. I busted my arse trying to take one down 2yrs ago. I was shaking the lock on trying to get it loose and they swarmed me and i grabbed a dead branch and a few big branches broke my fall. I took that spray can of that foam and filled up all the holes on my stands. Ladder stands stay out all year.
