Since things are slowing down and the season comes to a close, I wanted to share something that I think is cool. I know that I blabber on and on about Kansas and how amazing that the whitetails are out there.
I apologize in advance because we are on "tndeer.com". I personally am an antler fanatic. No matter where they come from, I love to see photos of great deer.
I just wanted to share these photos and measurements from a buck that my buddy found stuck in a fence out there. I promise that I will shut up about Kansas until next year after this.
This buck was found stuck in a barb wire fence on a really steep slope. It has 16 scorable points, it has an insane 10 point typical frame, the gross typical score is 184 and some change and the net typical is 177.
Its got insane tine length all the way out, but its spread is only 16 inches, good mass all the way up, with killer up turned main beams.
It left side G measurments were 7, 12,12,10 with a 24 and half inch main beam, and its right G measurments were 7,14,15,7 with a 25 and a half inch main beam.

a tennessee buck would never allow itself to get caught up in a barb wire fence. gotta go west to fine those.

Where at in Kansas? I've seen antlers with similar characteristics when I have hunted there.

I'm not trying to hijack, I just thought I would show another nice buck that I killed in Kansas in 2003. My buck was 22 7/8 inside, had 26 inch beams, 10 & 11 inch g-2's & g-3's and good mass. My buck was 175 5/8 gross and netted 164 2/8 and was killed in Reno County. Kansas definately has em !

Great bucks guys!
SAR Swimmer, since you like to see pics of big bones I present you one of a rare South Alabama buck my hunting buddy found dead on opening day of bow season a few years back. We scored it between 168-172...it won't make that tho because we fudged...right G5 only measured 7/8" but we scored it as a 12 point anyway. Has a 2" kicker on its right G2 that is not visible in the photo. My brother in law is the fellow in the pic...he's 6' tall and weights about 260 lbs (just threw that in there for size comparison)

B&C- that is a great deer you took. You know as well as I do that you can tell people about Kansas but it really and truly is somethin' ya gotta see for yourself. That's a great buck you took!
KRY- I hunt in Northeast Kansas- Johnson county.
BZZRD- That sucks that he was just found dead and nobody was able to harvest him. We have found sooo many dead bucks out there that just die of old age. A buck like that one would make my year!

Thanks man ! Kansas is definately a place that everyone should hunt at least once. I know some areas have higher populations than others but I would be happy in any area. I saw some monster rubs and scrapes while I was out there and truly believe that a person could kill the buck of their lifetime at any minute out there.

In case a man needed anymore Kansas motivation or proof... 150 6/8 gross (green), shot December 5th, pic taken the next morning. But in all honesty, the big ones are out there, but there's not a Booner behind every tree like the Outdoor Channel wants you believe. Regardless, it's a great place to hunt.

That is right KRY226. Some people go out there thinking that there will be a B and C buck behind every tree. The quality of animals is definetly a notch above the rest but ya still have to have good woodsmanship and of course luck on your side.
This is the time of year when I would recommend anyone to get your buddies together and apply for tags next year. Even if you hunt public land (which still is fantastic for producing monster bucks), you can work on acquiring permission to private land during your down time.
