Please, prosecute his arse to the fullest!!!!
I'm so stinking tired of these thieves.
I had another stand and a set of sticks stolen this year myself.

Not to pour water on a parade, but this will probably only be a misdemeanor at best. Unless you are willing to prosecute this to the full extent, and accept the fact that after that the judge is going to tell him he did a "no-no" and that he shouldn't do it again and let him go... Well, most folks won't go to that much trouble.
The other thing is what I learned my first week carrying a badge. When it's just you and the perp, and there's no witnesses, sometimes the story gets turned around and you were the aggressor... In this case what are you going to say when he charges you with assault? What if he says you came up out of the woods carrying your blind screaming at him, and trying to put handcuffs on him? He just wanted to get away from the lunatic that attacked him. And he didn't call the law because he knew you were going to be gone by the time they got there...and he was just glad to be alive...shaken, but alive.
(Although personally I hope you nail his privates to the jail house floor and throw away the key!)

IceMann, first glad you are okay. Sorry about your blind. I had two blinds tore up last year for no reason.

(Although personally I hope you nail his privates to the jail house floor and throw away the key!) I know what you are saying Blackbelt.he already had my blind in his truck.I came up on him right as he came out of the woods and had just put in in the back of the pickup, so he was caught on private property, stealing .The judge in McMinn is a big outdoorsman, and he has a rep for going hard on any wildlife suspect, be it thieving or poaching..I also am missing 4 trail cams from the same spot, but I didnt see him with them ,but I know he got them too.I can file a civil warrant ,and not even have to show up in court ,and he could get up to a year in jail.Anything over 500.00 is a felony,so if I can find the rest of my stuff at his house,he is gone....I am just so over it and I dont even like to talk about it..I am disgusted right now,,Its differant when its your stuff.. The thing is I wanted to post this as a heads up to anyone who has any gear in or around Mcminn,or Monroe county, until he gets caught, and even after, he will still be looking for something to steal.. Thats their method, jail does not deter them. Now that I think back, he is one I have seen cruising around roads 950,956, 963, 971,bow water among othrs all summer long..for what its worth. He is from monroe county, not on any lease,so why elese is he hanging around but to steal. At first I thought he was connected to the 2 I caught last week, but he is not. This guy is a solo thief who just rides around looking, and road hunting..

Sorry to hear about that Iceman. Not everybody in Monroe County are like that. Thanks for the heads up, though.

There is not another feeling like you are feeling right now. I know how you feel! I encourage you to take the time to prosecute to the fullest!!!! Even if it is just a $20.00 (for example). This will send a message throughtout the comunity that you are not going to take any crap. I have had over $2000 stolen from me in the past 10 months from ladders stands to food plot equipment in south west tn. Take this guy down... I strongly support you in your efforts. CWT

Tell you a story about the little MS town I grew up in... We had a 'bad-boy' named "Dink" (his real name) that lived there. Dink was the cause of a lot of mischief and sorrow amongst the town folks. Every Friday night Dink would show up at the pool hall and start a lot of fights. He was also mean and rude to the church ladies. He actually drove those good ladies to smoke and drink because he kept them so upset. It was rumored that Dink stole livestock and other things to keep money in his pocket since he didn't have a job. Dink was a huge pain in the arse that no one ever was able to stop. One day Dink parked his truck on the side of a deserted road and disappeared into the woods. When Dink came out of the woods, his truck had burnt to the ground. No one knows for sure, but it was rumored that one of the church ladies was probably passing down the road, and got so upset at seeing Dinks truck that she lit up a cigarette to calm her nerves. It was also rumored that she probably got so upset with herself for being manipulated by Dink that she tossed it out the window as she passed by, and unfortunately for Dink, it must have landed under his truck...which must have had a gas leak or something. It was a long while before Dink showed back up to terrorize folks again, because he had to figure out how to get another vehicle on a petty thiefs salary... Interesting story...

Just curious IceMann. Did you identify yourself as a LEO, or did I miss it somewhere?

Well thats the silliest thing I ever heard...I don't know how long you been a LEO, I have been for 20 years. The day I begin to worry about what is going to be said by the [censored] perp over doing what is right is the day I'll lay my badge down. That is exactly why these thugs do what they do, its because we are becoming a society thats worried about how this can come back on me or will I be sued. Let him sue me, my reputation as a LEO versus his reputaion of being a piece of $#!^ in a law abiding society should be enough to not worry about anything hes got to complain about.
IceMann, I hope you burn his arse. I know why you put this post on here. I did a post similar to this not long ago and for the most part got good feedback, but there were those who seemed to be a little leary of a person standing up for what is right and had to make a technical thing pout of it. Good for you, burn him....If you need help, let me know and I'll load up and come help ya.
