We had about 35% this year. I think next year will be good.

I am worried with the poor mast crop that it may not be really high. However, with too many unknowns it is up in the air IMO.

fawn recruitment in my area was poor this year. I am hoping for a good one this coming year.

Ours finally rebounded this year. In '07 it was only 19% and 25% in '08. But this year it jumped buck up towards a more healthy number of 75%.

Main farm had great recuruitment this year... almost 1:1 doe:fawn ratio (since we had so many twins and triplets). Last year was abysmal (around 30%). I figured I wouldn't see any yearling bucks this year, but I was really surprised- I probably saw 7 or 8. They must have shifted onto my property from somewhere else.
My other farm 10 miles away never missed a beat- still running around 80% past 3 years despite the drought... but on that farm we've been hammering the does. I was actually surprised I killed a doe that was 3.5 this year, I didn't even think there were any that old
For next year, I'm expecting an incredibly high fawn crop. All the does we killed were loaded with fat except for one who had been nursing twins. We also had a well-timed concise rut. Lots of breeding went on during the last half of the second week of ML.
