How do you estimate fawn recruitment? I'd like to look into this, but I don't know how.

I'm guessing 25% this year. That's not good. I'm hoping for better next year.

Keep detailed records of every deer you see while hunting. Record whether the deer was an antlered buck, adult doe (1 1/2+ years old), fawn or unidentifiable deer.
To get fawn recruitment, divide the number of fawns observed by the number of adult does seen and multiply that number by 100 (expressed as a percentage).
For example, if you saw 6 fawns and 10 adult does, your observed fawn recruitment is 60% (6 fawns divided by 10 does times 100).
In a healthy herd with good fawn production and survival, fawn recruitment should be 80% or greater.
