I'm going to do some scouting on a couple WMA's/public land, and was wondering if everyone used climbers. I would like to know your experience with leaving a loc-on or ladder stand in the woods. I'd like to have an idea of what I want to use while scouting.

good chance of them walking off and you need permission from the area manager to leave anything over 24 hrs.

I would never leave anything on public land if you really wanted to keep it..Good chance of someone taking it.

Depends on where you leave it, and how accessible. I would lean toward pulling mine unless I was coming back in the next day or two, and even then I would leave no steps to it and cable loc it.

been 2 up in stewart state forrest since the 1st weekend of ml season
one is a ladder stand with a full body harness
the other is a hanger with about 20 feet of grizzly screw in steps going up to it which i dont think is legal on public land

some awful trusting souls of their fellow man or some awfully dumb ones to say the least

i have talked to several other guys that hunt out their that have seen them up also so they have to had been their during bow season also.
they was still up last weekend.
