What does a man have to do to be able to get a baiter busted?? I posted a few weeks ago,or more, about how a guy across the creek has a 2 man ladder stand up in his feild with a 5gal bucket feeder hanging from a limb about 50 yds in front of his stand..Now I don't know if anything is in it,but it seems to me that it would be content to bait even if nothing was in it..I know it wasn't there during bow season, cause i've been through that area during that time, and looked in the field, and neither the feeder or stand was up..I noticed it up a little before gun season..
Now im not one to complain, but how in the heck am I supposed to compete with a baiter or bait for that matter?? It gives the baiter an unfair advantage..If it was leagl,i'd do it,but its not,and therefore I follow the laws set forth by TWRA...But i do expect them to enforce their laws..
I called several times to my local WO,and he tried to get back to me 1 time if I remember correctly,I work 3pm to 11pm,he called while I was at work,he didn't leave a number he could be reached at..So I called him back and left my number and what times Im reachable..He never called back..Then he sets up on me, and tries to bust me hunting illegally with a rifle during bow season..(the bow season between the 2 gun seasons)I posted on that also,he said someone told him i was hunting with a gun during bowseason..He parked down the road and waited for me to come out of the woods that evening, and then surpised me by my truck..Little does he know i obey all game laws put forth by TWRA..
It resulted in a nice long talk and me informing him of the baiter, and I gave directions how to get to it from the proprty I hunt,(pretty straight foward) I even offered to take him anyday of the week before 3pm or anytime on the weekend..He said that if he didn't call me to show him that it meant that he went on his own..I watched the mudd holes and gravel to the place I hunt,I see it everyday, and nobody was in nor out of it for the whole week..So it has come to my conclusion that he never went to check it out..And yesterday I walked back to it and looked across the feild and both stand and feeder is up..
If he did go,you would have thought that he would have atleast made them take the feeder down even if there was no feed in it?? Would you think? Sorry for the long read, but it just burns me up..I know TWRA and WO are busy, but dang its been over a month ago.

sounds pretty sorry. If he had time to check you then he had time to go look at the bait site the same day.(maybe he did later but should have let you know)i really was upset to learn how many times people call Gw about poaching and they never get a call returned.this is total bs.If they are going to have a poacher hotline the least they could do is return a call to a person who is trying to do the right thing.I don't really understand it.I thought they would treat people better who are trying to help them.

I completely understand your situation, and I like TWRA and WO, BUT everyone and their momma is calling them this time of year and in their ear trying to get something done. They have alot of procedures not only by State Law but TWRA policy they follow. Now, I'm not fully taking up for them but they have an overwhelming job this time of year. I hope your situation gets better and something gets taken care of. Call the officers supervisor, and explain. If you keep bugging them something will get done, and alot of times thats what it takes is to call every single day. May tick the officer off but it still will get done. Take pictures of the feeder with a date on the pictures. Call local sheriff dept and get a case number along with on call magistrate dates. Talk to the county magistrate with all of owner's information, plus person hunting, then take all evidence and information and present it to the grand jury and try to get an indictment.

Are you kidding? He has already done more than he should have had to.i know Gw are busy but they should atleast return phone calls.
I do agree that calling his boss is the way to get him to call you back.It is amazing how you can call a GW 10 times and not hear from him.call his boss and you will usually here from the GW that day.

I understand you shouldn't have to do that BUT if you want it taken care of and you can't get help Take the matter into your own hands. That is one of the biggest problem with us fair, law abiding hunters we blame the game warden for not doing their job and continously just call on the phone and say hey there tresspassing, or their poaching. Do you know how many of those calls they recieve every year and we don't give them enough evidence to do anything with ? We as citizens have the right to bring any criminal case in front of our county magistrates and grand jury's. If the game warden's ain't goin to help I'm simply trying to give Cecil 30-30 other options.

Like I said, its been about a month, maybe a little longer since I first reported it by phone..Don't you think,if he checked it out, that he would atleast make them take the feeder down? Seems that it would be attempt to bait or something of that nature with it hanging ther empty..Another thing that bothers me,is that he told me straight to my face that he would go checked it out within that week..He took my phone number and said that he may just call me to have me show him.But he then said, that if he didn't call me,that meant that he just went by hisself to check it out..

You have one man for a whole county of spot lighting, baiting, road hunting, and all the other wonderful things that happen. He is only allowed 40 hrs a week and they have families and lives also. Try to be understanding he may have already checked on it. Very true plus they are only allowed so much overtime and the rest is comp time that they cant use until later . they have to go investigate every call out also even after their off for the night.

i understand that but always worry about giving advice like that.some people will get thierselves in more trouble than the people they are going after.

I'd give him the benefit of doubt. He may have a good reason for not having done it yet, you never know, something could have happened to him, sick, family, etc. I'd call again.
