In my experience, the deer always a good lead and you only know that dogs are pushing them because they show up minutes after seeking a deer come by briskly. If that's a law, I'm certain its to prevent the utilization of dogs in a hunt, not hunters who kill a deer being chased by wild dogs.

Anyway, I shoot them when I repeatedly see them chasing on my land and always will. I love my dogs dearly and take dog ownership seriously. If I let my dogs run wild on other peoples property and someone shot them I would only be angry at myself.

The 2009 Hunting guide, under Prohibited Acts on page says:

"The use of dogs in taking or attempting
to take deer is prohibited. Taking or attempting
to take deer being pursued by
dog, or dogs, is prohibited."

It says nothing about who owns the dogs or who owns the land.

I think you are missing my point. How are you to know if a deer is being pursued by a dog if you cant see the dog when you have a shot at the deer, as is often the case? My property would be un-huntable if I only hunted when I was certain that dogs weren't pushing the deer, and the only way to be certain that this law wasn't infringed upon would be to wait several minutes for your shot if you hear dogs barking in the area, as the dogs are usually lagging behind their quarry by a good measure. Only when you 'know' that a dog is pursuing the specific deer in question is this law applicable to a hunter not using dogs in a hunt unless you see the dog following the deer.

if u think the dog is or will attack u im all for killing it
with that said i think most people who kill dogs are the ones that aint killing nothing at all and have to pull the trigger on something..
i know theres not a leash law but its not your proprty anyway ..got to kill sumthing tho ..ever wonder why hunting land is getting harder to fine
