As a low. Unless youth are super-pumped about going hunting you don't want to make the experience unpleasant. Sitting still for hours in sub-freezing temps is unpleasant for most children.

its unpleasant for most adults too... lol

I really talking about NEXT weekend. No way I would, or my wife would let me, take my kids out. This is why my wife won't fish with me anymore. And I don't even fish in the cold now. Was really wanting to take my daughter during the youth hunt but I guess the weather and her will decide on that one. Thanks guys.

I agree, it's way too cold to take youngsters. It's great that there are 2 juvy hunts but the one in Jan usually hits during the coldest weather of the year.

Leave them at home. It is going to single digits sat and sun. There is always next year.

If the kid is to small, when you layer all those clothes on them, it sometimes makes it impossible for them to shoot. Happend to us on Juvinille this year with my 8 year old nephew.

Good advice. It will be stuck in their little minds for eternity and associate hunting with freezing their butts off.

Too cold for mine and the ones I know this week.

A bit of advice while we're talking-

Short, highly successful trips (both hunting and fishing).

Make them miserable and you may lose a partner.

When they say leave, leave.

My 11 year old son is the exception. He can hunt in any temp that Tennessee has to offer. I'm the one that gets cold!
