love me some food coordinator..........very respectful man raising very respectful kids......good friend. We have the same passion for football.
As far as the deer contest goes, yes, to my knowledge, my deer still leads. Sunday is the last day.....and if anyone goes down and braves that bottom in these temps and kills one bigger, I'll be the first to shake his hand and congratulate him. Funny thing is, I never thought the deer would win (still hasn't). Even when I was trying to decide on whether to shoot or not, I didn't think he would win. I decided TO shoot because of his width and the unigue way one of his beams curves downward....I liked the deer and shot him for that reason, not because I thought that he would win the contest (again, he hasn't yet).
I'm not going to the club tomorrow and fight the sloughs and possibly cross the creek.......the water may be down but you still have a few places to cross to get to where I go hunt. None of my three stands is located where I would not have to cross a slough or two to get to it.....Not in these temps......I have done that before, but not anymore.....53 years old is not old, but 53 is smarter.
I'm going to my other place...a small farm planted in beans...no water except a puddle or two in the low end at THE CORNER..
There are deer there that you can set your watch by.....

Good luck! Our season{va} ended saturday with 30mph stedy winds and highs in the twenties! It was about the same on Friday. I went out Friday morn and evening and said so long to 09 deer season with a several does in the freezer.Son shot a pie-bald doe{4th} friday to end his season. He and I killed seven does between us on our property and actually or more like amazingly they were all mature! Hopefully this counters the six bucks my wife and neighbor and his son killed!
Sorry, didn't mean to hi-jack, just got to rambling.

Thursday through Sunday the moon phase is off the chart. Don't know how many of you use it, but the deer movement at our lease stays consistant for the most part, with the phases.
