Is it just me,or does it seem like its been abnormally windy this deer season? Im not talking about blow you out of your tree windy, but just a constant 5-10 mph wind almost every day? There has been a lot of blow you out of your tree days, but seems like we havn't had an absolute calmn day this year..I can't think of a day the wind wasnt blowing..And I hate the wind,Is it me,or it could be that its just that im paying more attention to the wind direction this year.

'bout the same...
My ability to hunt long-range is wind dependent. About the same number of days as in the past that it wasn't possible.

Seems like a regular wind year to me. When the wind gets over 15mph+, I usually hang it up for the day. I know some deer will move in that wind, but not many. Up to 15mph doesn't seem to affect their moving. Just my experience.

I do the same cecil, if you have any predator hunter in you like I do, you get intimate with accuweather's wind speed/direction forecasts

I hunt in a huge bottom and the wind will blow from all points of the compass before it settles down about an hour after daylight, which USUALLY coincides with the predicted wind pattern. I would much rather have a steady wind blowing from a predictable direction than a squirrely 3 to 5 mph wind that can't decide which way it want's to blow, or worse yet a dead calm where your scent just pools then gets pushed out towards the deer just as they show up!
