I've learned that I don't have enough time with family and work to scout and hunt multiple properties with deer and their changing patterns. This year I have found out through focusing on one hunting property and sticking with it, it rewarded me with my biggest buck to date.

I don't know a thing about deer hunting, deer densities or land availability in Greene or Cocke counties, but I gotta agree with DA on this one.
I spend probably 2/3rds more time scouting (in season) and acquiring permission/leasing land than I do hunting.
It's pretty much a year round deal.

I think you are correct and I have several properties that I hunt which have little to no hunting pressure. Some of my problems this year have been bad decisions and bad luck. Alot of my frustration has been self inflicted.

The other problem I have is lack of time and overall experience. I hunted some in High School then started college and a career. It was not until 5 yrs ago that I started hunting serioulsy.

My best hunting buddy never graduated from high school but his knowledge of the woods, game, shooting accuracy and the outdoors is amazing he does not need a degree because he has a PHD in being a woodsman. It does not get any better than that.

I on the other hand have the degrees and what I would not trade sometime for his knowledge of the outdoors that he has gained thru years of experience
