New Years Day Deer

Finally scored in the new year and shot a nice 8 point this morning. I was late getting in the woods this morning due to New Years Eve staying up late and got to the woods about 8 am this morning. I was about 30 yards from the tree I sit and hunt from and I see this nice buck walk out of a thicket in front of me about 50 yards. I kneeled down and waited for him to walk in a small opening and poured the lead to him at 8:30 am this morning. I have heard stories like this for years and always said I wish I could be that lucky. Well, I finally got lucky and have one of those stories to tell after 24 years of hunting.
