I just traded for one this week, but I've not shot it or even found any ammo for it yet. I was wondering if any of you are using them for deer and how you like it? Any cons other than ammo price/availabilty?

I shoot a Ruger No.1 in 25-06, same loads as B&C. Never had one move out of its tracks with farthest shot at 110 yards. The 25-06 is one heck of a deer cartridge.

Federal Premium 100 grain Ballistic Tips have worked for me. Only 2 does but both were DRT. Handloads work great too.

My buddy hunts with a 25.06. He killed a nice 8 pt on New Years Eve with it. Ran maybe 30 yards.

Welcome to the TNDEER site . I have a 25/06 built on a NIKO Golden Eagle 7000 action that my son will get to use as I am putting my old Redfield 3X9 wildfield scope on it for him to use , I sold my Remington 7400 automatic rifle to my nephew who was useing it . The brothers son wanted a new Nikon scope .
