Looks like it is gonna be bitter cold and windy all weekend long. I know deer move in all types of weather, because i have seen them, but I also know that while the cold gets them moving the bitter cold causes them to shut down a lot of the time. It seems that they like to wait until the temp gets in the mid to high 20's before they really start moving. The highs are only supposed to be in the upper 20's to low 30's Saturday and Sunday.
If you are hunting what do you think the best time would be? AM, PM or Mid day when the temps are in that 25-35 range?
Thanks for your input

Best experiences I have had in this kinda weather have been in the Late morning(Mid Day) to late evenings. Ill hunt funnels or around some good fields in the late evening.

What if you were hunting heavily hunted public land... although I did see 4 on a field Wed. night.

Cold and windy but Deer Assassin was right on the money. I have a field 5 min. from the house and walked to a ground blind and saw 7 doe's on the edge of the field feeding. No bucks but saw deer. Maybe tomorrow....

I just got in from evening hunt with my nephew...We hunted 50 yards inside the wood line and we both saw some does late. Tomorrow I'm hunting in the pm and will sit on a tree line hunting across a 80 yard wide bean field that just got cut. Tree line on three sides of the field. Im hoping they are holding out of the wind at the bottom of the hill across the field and will come out to feed late.

Get ready for brutal temps this weekend. Single digits to below zero.
