After almost a years vacation from tndeer, my persona has changed dramatically. Through a significant amount of research and field time I have learned things which have caused me to rethink many of the positions I held a year ago. Many of the things I thought and/or said I have proven to be somewhat incorrect and am ready to have a semi restart as a member of this forum armed with a much better understanding of this areas deer herd, potential, and current status. Which I have to say is much different then I had thought.

I am hopeful the mods give me the chance to prove that, and don't just ban me right off the bat. Give me a few weeks to show what I mean, and mean what I say, rather then shuffling me off to the graveyard. I could go by unnoticed, but would rather be upfront and honest. Give me a chance, and you might be surprised.

Hope everyone has had a good year and a good season, and has more good times ahead of them as well.

Im sure you won't get banned for talking about touchy topics, that everyone has their own answer for. From my short time here I can tell these guys are not like that. Im sure they can still learn (If they want to) What will probably get you banned is bashing others for there opinions or being a CHAS Trol.. Hope to hear from ya soon Im sure I could learn alot and hope to.

Never made it to IL, hunting was too good here, GA, and Miss.

Those who remember I had all sorts of adjacent landowner issues which sent me into a rage last year, and since then I have worked them out and now finished our first year with hopefully a lengthy and prosperous coop effort to make both of our hunting better.

I don't know you but welcome back. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Some agree and some don't, but thats life. How we handle our opinions and keep our self control in check is what sets some of us apart. Some fight and some sit back and laugh. Thats life.

BGG, I would love to get you on the phone in the next few weeks and get your thoughts on some things I learned this past fall with regards to the age structure in our deer herd. It really shocked me, and it wasn't shocking due to the lack of mature bucks, but rather the other way around. Pretty interesting, and I have never seen anything like this before, I thought maybe you might have more knowledge of factors which could lead to this outcome.

I disagree. I will say that if he acts like he did when he was around before I hope the mods will put a swift end to his posting. He drug the site down and made it painful to read this forum. How you, bgg and a few others tolerated him is beyond me. I was fully content knowing he couldn't stand me.

Not hardly, I don't and didn't even know you. I generally have to know someone personally before I would hate them. Words on a computer screen are no basis to make any sort of conclusion.

It's amazing to me, how some people react to what someone types
on a computer about their deer hunting views. Why do so many get
offended? Believe what you think is right, and above all, don't
worry a whole lot about what others think or say.

If you so strongly disagree with them, and you know in your heart
that you are right..........keep it quite.

Good post and your right, too many here take it personal and get their feelings hurt.
Welcome back Capn, hope this ride is smoother than the last. I will say nothing has changed here, although the rash of bannings seemed to lessen after the ones who were disagreeing were gotten rid of, its their happy place again now.

Having differences of opinion is one thing. Having someone repeatedly question your knowledge, integrity and honesty--especially when you make your living from those qualities--is more than just a disagreement.

i wouldn't totally judge anyone based on a few lines someone posted on a computer screen i think if some of these guys talked in person they would find each other not to be so bad and they might actually have alot in common

BSK, while I do understand your view, this is still nothing but a public talk forum, where everybody will have their own opinion, and even though some are way off base, you still have to control your emotions and let it slide. If you were getting paid or were forced to post here it would be different, but you have the luxury of just ignoring anything that doesnt suit you, which sometimes will be the best policy. You know better than anybody how frustrating it can be to try and convince others of your opinion, but most look at it as just that, your opinion, no need to get mad, they arent paying you, just reading your posts. Just let it slide, let it slide!!! lol

Oh, I fully understand that Winchester, and when you take controversial positions, you have to be prepared for that sort of thing.

But I don't forget either.
