I didnt keep track, but have 15 sets of horns I wonder if TWRA can compile that info. i read before $2000 per deer looked up,reckon they could go back so far with computer then a Manuel look would be involved
they can tell you back to 2000. anything before that is a paper search at $25 each. that's what i was told.
since 2000: 13 does 9 bucks
i would guess total would be somewhere between 40-50. i would like to know which deer was/will be my 50th but not willing or able to pay the money.

I keep pretty good stats. Killed my first in 2000.
I have been hunting 10 years and have killed 29 deer in 6 states: 15 bucks, 14 does (I am really proud of the balance between bucks and does).
2 in Virginia 8 in Georgia 6 in Texas 4 in Kentucky 4 in Tennessee 5 in Kansas
13 on public land, 16 on private land and no high fences
5 were bow kills (1 PSE Nova, 4 Mathews FX) 3 were taken with a .243 (Remington Model 700) 8 taken with a .30-06 (Browning A-Bolt) 8 taken with a 12 ga slug (Remington Model 870) 3 taken with a muzzleloader (Savage 10ML-II) 2 taken with a 20 ga slug (Encore Pro Hunter)
7 were taken on morning hunts 1 during the afternoon (1:30 pm) 21 during evening hunts
Ain't America great?
And yes, I am a lunatic about deer hunting.

Started hunting in about '78, first kill in '80, and killed a total of 54. Killed my first one in Washington County. It's interesing to look back at the TWRA records to see how few deer were killed back when I got started. Don't remember for sure, but it was a really low number in 1980.

I started hunting in Fall of '01 at the age of 33. I've killed 32 total, 10 bucks and 22 does, with 3 of those bucks coming this season. All kills in Montgomery and Houston Counties, TN. Most in a season was 06-07 when I killed 7, worst was 03-04 when I killed ZERO.
2 does and 1 buck with a bow, 8 does and 4 bucks with a Knight M.L. 1 doe with a Remington .270 11 does and 5 bucks with the Howa .300 WSM
I have date, time, location, sex, weight, weapon, shot distance, tracking distance, and short description of each hunt that I harvested a deer on.
Edited by Howa (12/31/09 09:57 PM) Edit Reason: I don't know how old I am. lol

Started hunting in 1974 at age 7. Killed my first one in 1979. I'd say I've killed between 75 and 100. I wish there was a way to find out how many I have killed.

Did just that a few weeks ago. I came up with about 400. But that is just an estimate. I think it is pretty close. what about time say 50 years ?
You do the math. I started in 54, killed my first two in 55. I been at for a while and did it for a living for several years. I'd estimate 70% were does.

First deer hunt was '75 . Never had anyone to teach me or take me hunting, just went and sat mostly seeing nothing.
Missed a lot of years and several years only went once or twice.
Total is not important, just say not nearly as many as I would like.
Biggest was in 2007, a 7 point .
Have killed deer with rifle and mz in 3 States.
Have not killed any since 2007, only been twice during that time.

Started in 1987 and killed my 1st buck (6 pt) the first day I hunted. I have killed 116 total ( 69 bucks & 47 does ). I have taken a picture of every deer I have ever killed and written everyone down in a journal and photo album.I killed everyone I could when I was younger, now I usually kill 1 or 2 a year. I have hunted deer in 8 different states over the years and have killed 5 bucks that gross over 140 inches and a couple others that were around 120.
I killed 42 of the 116 with a bow

Started hunting in about '78, first kill in '80, and killed a total of 54. Killed my first one in Washington County. It's interesing to look back at the TWRA records to see how few deer were killed back when I got started. Don't remember for sure, but it was a really low number in 1980.
Anybody else save all their kill tags? I've got every one of mine with additional information written on them to document the occasion, ie, weight, location of hunt, etc, etc,

EVERY SINGLE KILL TAG of EVERY SINGLE DEER I ever killed except the first one at AEDC in 1981, and maybe one or two others. ALso, Alabama did not issue kill tags so there are a few of those missing. But pics of ALL my kills.
I also have pictures of every one and video of MANY, MANY of the deer. Some video of the actual kill
Also...where, time of day, weather cond., temps., etc...
I looked up the moon phase on a buch of them. I used to know how to go back and look that up but I have found it really makes little difference in MOST cases.

To answer the question: I couldn't tell you, alot I guess. Started in 1965, and living with my Grandparents with very little money, deer was a good source of food. Every time this question comes up it just makes me thankful I get to see and hunt another season. Now days it's not the number of kills its the enjoyment of the hunt.

I started in 93 got my first one that season a 6 pt. Missed most of the seasons between 94-99 due to the being in the Marine Corps(killed a couple of does at Lejeune).
Since 2000 12 bucks 16 does, so 31 total.

Somewhere around 200. Started hunting in 1977 or 8, killed my first in '81. Ive got every kill tag Ive ever been issued in TN. Ive been hunting KY for several years now, and Ive got all of those tags as well. I havent went through and counted em all in a few years now, hence the guestimate on numbers.

Been after them sense 1975, with the first buck kill in 1976! As far as how many Spit, I don't know, how many is a bunch? but I will say I have made several jaws slap the ground over the 30 plus years of hunting them! To be honest man, I enjoy hunting and shooting too much to waste time counting the ones that dropped!
Me too. Started the same year as you and quit counting when I was about Spits age. No Idea how many.

started in 95 (10years old) killed my first deer in 98 a small doe, to date i've killed 11 bucks and 10 does. i could have killed more but ive let probably 75-100 walk in the last 4 years waitin on a big'un. well the last 2 has been mainly due to a lack of sightings. of course im still waitin on the big one and i also have each one logged in a book, and will keep it till i can no longer hunt.

started about 1985, I was 15 y.o.
I probably killed 75 total-have managed to actually hang on to bout half of the kill tags but they're too faded to read-bummer, was gonna make some kind of display out of all them.

Started in 1991 at age 10. Killed my first in 92 at age eleven. I too keep a journal and document every kill. I have every kill tag except for one. I don't have access to it right now but off the top of my head 73 total all from Unit A. I can think of 24 bucks off the top of my head so it is somewhere in that range. Started being selective in the buck size about 6 or 7 years ago.

Started deer hunting in 1980 at the age of 9 and have killed a few since then, lol I'd guess were getting close to 300. I know I've killed right at 100 with a bow now so 300 is probably pretty close. I kkept detailed records thru about 200 but my kids came along and I let it go.

I am not real sure how many that I have killed but I will say that back in the day, I would put the smack down on any legal deer that crossed my path. I shot 3 in one evening and I shot two at a time on many occassions. Nowdays I am lazy so I just go for the bigguns.
