No desire to hunt over bait, but I would feed supplemental protein pellets year round.

I won't but I don't care if you do. I have hunted over bait, not my thing but they do it on KY and we all know how good the hunting is in KY. Maybe if we allowed baitinig we would have bucks like KY.

How is it cruel?

Baiting = no sport, no skill needed, your taking an unfair and un-natural advantage of an animals basic need..."food", for that matter it takes all the hunt out of hunting, anyone who baits does not truely know or want to know how to truely hunt...they just want to kill things IMO, if all someone wants to do is kill something then they need a therapist cause they have serious repressed aggresions issues from childhood....LOL....they probably do...right?...LOL, if they allowed baiting they should change the licensing to "baiting license" instead of a "hunting license", I find hunting to be a spiritual experience and for me and I just think it should be a sport in which respect from hunter and hunted is earned through skill, true woodsmanship etc., but if TWRA thinks it is OK then I would respect thier decision but would not bait nor be a supporter of it
I wasn't flameing you or calling you out,was just curious of what you meant by cruel..For me,I have no real opinion on baiting..I've never hunted over it,nor really had the need to hunt over it..But I can't help but feel that it will be made legal in the next few years for TN..

i didn't mean my comment to sound quite so aggresive, sorry

What a waste, baiting would be
in Central KY, Corn planted everywhere already.
Beans too. LOL

I enjoy hunting, finding the trails,scrapes,bedding areas,food sources,water,pinch points,escape routes,rubs...etc.

I think it could work great with proper guidelines. In other words, only allow baiting during a set antlerless only season. This would also help reduce the 'accidental' button bucks being shot since typically it would allow for a longer period to look the deer over and compare.

I'm no expert but I don't think it would work as well or foolproof as many think it would...
