But, why put a worm (or minnow) on a hook? Lack of skill? Same thing imo.
there are self proclaimed eleitist(?) in the fishing world that do say that very thing. They rag the heck out of folks that don't use artificial baits only...
not that it matters, but I don't do any supplemental feeding...plots or bags...legal or not..

I think they should charge a fee or make folks buy a permit to bait! And that will create another source of revenue.
Please don't let this become another money making tool!

Very interesting. I've always wondered why you can plant food plots and such. But putting out something is illegal, is it because 1 requires more work than the other?

Baiting is a personal preference, IMO.
IF it makes you feel just as proud to shoot a deer over a pile of corn as it does scouting and intercepting him along his daily travels (aka going into his house and not drawing him out in the open)then by all means, have at it.
I DEER HUNT FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND NOT FOR THE END RESULT....
Eating the meat and/or displaying the buck on my wall is just a byproduct of the experience......
To me it's sort of like earning a living or living off the gubment teet.
I hope your story doesn't go something like this....
"Yep, you see that ten pointer right there on my wall? Well, it took three full bags of shelled corn before I got him! I had to watch that pile for almost a week before he decided to show up..I thought I was going to have to go back to CO-OP and get another bag...."
truly sad, IMO.
And no, I don't plant or hunt over food plots.

I DEER HUNT FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND NOT FOR THE END RESULT....
BH, I truly love everything about deer hunting, from getting prepared weeks early, being with family and friends, down to camping in the woods, spending quiet time alone in a tree, etc. But the END RESULT is the absolute #1 reason im there, if not I would just go camping or bird watching, sightseeing etc. Many ways to spend time outdoors with family and friends without hunting, so I dont even try to disguise the fact that I truly intend to kill something each and every time I step foot in the woods! Winning the battle against the old mature buck, killing him at 15 yards in his own bedroom with just an arrow, thats where its at and thats the reason I go, end result equals rack in hand admiring the trophy!!! Dont try to make it something its not, its HUNTING!!!!!!!!!! I dont and wont bait either, but killing is a must!

Agreed, I don't bait or plot, legal or not. But it would be nice to have a small pile of corn to hopefully lure in a doe or whatever for the youth season (attention span). Guess it would just make it easier for the "unskilled" as BSK put it. As far as the fishing comment, was just a thought with nothing behind it. Happy to sit on a bank with a bobber or break out the artificials for the real deal. I'm happy as long as I'm in either scenario. Same with deer and turkey hunting. Whatever the rules are, I'm happy to be a part of it.

I'm going to leave my opinion without reading all the posts up to this point, and it is a strong one.
If we are talking hunting over bait then heck no. If you hunt over bait you are a crappy hunter and a cheater simple as that.
If you are baiting/feeding deer in the offseason to get pics and what not, i don't see a problem with that. as long as the feeder comes down before season opens.
